How will the Camp be structured?

Tuesday - Thursday Schedule
7:30 - 9:00 Breakfast
9:00 All camp meeting
9:30 - 12:00 Class
12:00 Lunch
1:15 - 2:15 Class
2:30 - 4:00 Elective workshops
4:00 - 6:00 Free time
6:30 Supper
Evening Jamming (structured and unstructured) and/or evening concerts

* Breakfast is for students who pay for meals and lodging. Tuesday breakfast only offered to students who pay for Monday night lodging.

How do I get to Grand Targhee?

Grand Targhee is located just outside of Driggs, Idaho. The closest  airports are Jackson, Wyoming (45 miles) and Idaho Falls, Idaho (84 miles). From Driggs, follow Ski Hill Rd / Little Avenue east for about 6 blocks. You will reach a fork. Bear left and the road becomes Ski Hill Road. Remain on Ski Hill Road through Alta, Wyoming and on up the hill. Ski Hill Road ends at Grand Targhee Resort! For more info visit: www.grandtarghee.com or call 1-800-TARGHEE. top

Is there a shuttle from the airport?

Yes, Grand Targhee Resort also offers a shuttle service from both airports (not free, unfortunately). Contact Targhee for current rates & schedule: www.grandtarghee.com or call 1-800-TARGHEE. top

If I register for Grand Targhee Bluegrass Camp, can I stay in my room for the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival?

You need to make separate reservations for festival lodging. Typically, the rooms are sold out for Friday and Saturday nights, but feel free to check for cancellations or inquire about off-site condos: 1-800-TARGHEE. top

What can I buy at Targhee?

The General Store has most of the essentials, snacks, toiletries, beer & wine. There is also a coffee shop. top

What can I buy in Driggs?

Driggs is the closest town. Here you will find a post office, a music store, a health food store, grocery, a pharmacy, 1/2 dozen restaurants, bakery, drive thru coffee, several gas stations, banks, etc. top

What should I bring with me?

Targhee is at 8000’ so expect mountain weather - anything from 80’s to 30’s at night. Classrooms are indoors, so you don’t need anything out of the ordinary for camp, but you may want to have warm clothes and rain gear to take advantage of your surroundings. Don’t forget shorts, a swimming suit, sunscreen, hiking boots or a mountain bike. Also bring picks, rosin, extra strings, tuner, watch, recording device, notebook and extra batteries. top

Will my cell phone and laptop internet work? 

Yes and no....there is some cell service at the resort. Edge & AT&T wireless coverage works. Others are hit and miss. There is complimentary high-speed wireless internet access. top

Can I bring my dog?

No, sorry. top
